Module 2 Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the academic and leisure activities you, your classmates, and your professor partake in

  2. Identify the classes you and others are taking

  3. Describe campus activities and study habits using –ar, -ir, and –er verbs 

  4. Ask and answer questions about your and others' academic and daily activities 

  5. Use numbers (31-100) and months to identify information and give dates 

  6. Identify English-Spanish cognates 

  7. Identify and explore the diversity and culture in Spanish-speaking world: Mexico

  8. Explore a virtual museum called El museo de mujeres artistas to then the describe next steps for increased visibility of art from marginalized populations 

  9. Describe and compare how outward appearance affects the way different societies function using information from infographics, videos, and articles

Course components for Module/Chapter 2

1) Informative "textbook" chapter 2 (grammar explanations and vocabulary lists)

2) Communication-forward chapter 2 activities for face-to-face & synchronous modes

3) Chapter 2 PowerPoint

4) ~50 rote exercises for chapter 2 grammar and vocabulary 

5) Chapter 2 final quiz

6) Chapter 2 Modified Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA). This assessment principally leverages the interpretive mode, although the presentational mode is also included. Tasks are based on authentic materials. Linguistic and cultural competences are assessed.
